EKO HOT BLOG reports that One of the internet’s most popular adult content creators, Belle Delphine, faced a hefty fine of over $90,000 from PayPal after her viral stint of selling bathwater.
Despite her fame as a livestreamer, the sale of her used “GamerGirl” bathwater in 2019 elevated her stardom, leading to further success in adult content creation.
However, Delphine revealed on X that the venture wasn’t profitable, attributing the loss to PayPal’s actions.
She disclosed that PayPal abruptly closed her account and seized the $90,000 earnings from the bathwater sales, leaving her powerless despite her attempts to resolve the issue.
In a tweet, Delphine lamented the situation, acknowledging it as her biggest loss yet.
She provided evidence of PayPal deducting the sum from her account in May 2021, two years post the bathwater sale, with no response to queries for clarification.
PayPal declined to comment on individual accounts due to privacy concerns.
This incident contributes to the grievances expressed by creators, especially those in sexually suggestive content niches, regarding arbitrary actions by major internet platforms.
While PayPal cites rules on sexually oriented goods and services, the specific violation remains unclear.
Delphine, based in the UK, questioned the terms breached and PayPal’s lack of transparency regarding the penalty.
The absence of a $2,500 penalty clause in PayPal’s current policies adds confusion, although users are liable for fines resulting from misuse.
Delphine’s decision to withhold the loss reflects a desire for a more sensational narrative, despite the humorous aspect of the incident.
Overall, Delphine expressed satisfaction with the memorable internet moment, despite the financial setback, emphasizing her commitment to fulfilling orders despite the circumstances.
