Benue State University’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Achinge Is Dead

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration of the Benue State University( BSU) Professor Godwin Achinge has died in Jos, Plateau state on Sunday.

The news of his death is coming in less than 24 hours after Governor Samuel Ortom announced him as one of those that tested positive for COVID-19.

Achinge, who is also the Vice-chairman Benue State Emergency Committee on COVID 19, reportedly died on admission where he was undergoing treatment.

Recall that Ortom while speaking in a media conference on Saturday announced his wife, Eunice Ortom, and Achinge were some of the new cases of coronavirus infection in the state.

However, it could not be ascertained at the time of filling in this report, if the Professor died of complications from COVID 19.

Accordingly, no official statement has been released by the Benue State University or the Deputy Governor Benson Abounu- led COVID 19 committee but newsmen gathered they were consulting with the family and the university.
