Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has asserted that some of the brightest minds in the United States, including top doctors, are Nigerians.
Speaking on Afric TV, Davido highlighted the intellectual and creative contributions of Africans on the global stage. He noted that Nigerians excel not only in the medical field but also in the entertainment industry.
“The best doctors in America are Nigerians. You can check the facts,” Davido said. “Even at my record label, Sony Music, Africans bring the most innovative ideas. Our imagination is unmatched.”

He also emphasized the growing influence of African cinema, pointing out that platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime are increasingly sourcing content from the continent. “When you check Netflix’s top 10, you’ll often see at least two Nigerian movies. Africa is next, trust me. We just need a few more things to fall into place,” he added.
In a separate interview on The Big Homies House podcast, Davido cautioned black Americans about relocating to Africa, despite the rising trend of seeking connection to their roots.
When asked about the movement, Davido responded, “Leave America and go where?” He highlighted the economic and systemic challenges currently plaguing many African countries, including Nigeria.
Drawing from his own experiences, having been raised in Nigeria after being born in Atlanta, Georgia, Davido remarked, “It’s not cool back home… The economy is in shambles.”
