Youwin is among the best youth empowerment programmes in Nigeria. It is highly popular and well-received by the Nigerian youths. Youwin is the brainchild of various government agencies and international organisations, backed by private businesses and investors. It was borne out of the need to boost job creation and directly bolster the entrepreneurial spirit in the Nigerian youths. It has also emerged as a powerful platform for Nigerian youths to display their business skills and awareness.
Grant awarded to successful Youwin applicant is worth close to 500,000 Naira. The empowerment program aims to create more than 150,000 new jobs for the teeming population.
In 2012, the Ebele Jonathan’s government launched a youth-centric empowerment programme known as Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Program (Sure-P). Among the various functions of the agency, the Sure-P helps to cater to youth unemployment and the minimisation of vulnerability by some groups. The Sure-P is also expected to engage in several social programmes.
N-power is a youth empowerment programme in Nigeria launched under the administration of President Buhari. The empowerment scheme aims to utilise the energy of Nigerian youths to grow and develop Nigeria economically and socially. N-power also seeks to instil in Nigerian populace, adequate skills and knowledge.
The N-power has different frontiers which include N-power agro, N-power tax, N-power builds, N-power creative, N-power health, N-power teach, N-power tech hardware and N-power tech software.
About half a million graduates are expected to be trained through this programme.
Youth Empowerment and Development Initiative began in 2011 to empower and train the Nigerian youth in health-related programmes. It has positively impacted the lives of about 300,000 children in various states in Nigeria.
This youth empowerment programme is centred on agriculture. It targets youth that intends to build careers in the agricultural sector. It was established in 2012, and it has inaugurated a lot of programmes that have inspired and encourages youths to adopt agriculture as a job.
