Beware Of Fake News, I Never Ordered Resumption Of Public Worship- Gov. Makinde

The Oyo State Government has debunked a report stating all public worship centers should resume despite ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

This was made known by Governor Seyi Makinde via his official Twitter account on Thursday and urged news platforms to be mindful of the information disseminated to the public this period.

He said; “A statement is circulating in the Press purportedly from me, stating that we have lifted the restrictions on social distancing regarding places of worship including mosques and churches. This information is FALSE and should be completely disregarded.”

Gov. Seyi Makinde further stated that experts are carrying out a risk situation analysis and will be sending in their report before the end of May and this will determine our next steps.
“As I stated in my press briefing on May 18, 2020, the experts are carrying out a risk situational analysis and we will communicate whatever decisions are reached through our Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force Press briefings in due course.”
