Beyoncé Sets Grammy Record With 11 Nominations, Breaking Tie With Jay-Z

Beyoncé has made history by becoming the most-nominated artist ever at the Grammy Awards, surpassing her husband, Jay-Z.

The musical power couple had previously been tied with 88 nominations each, but Beyoncé has now taken the lead thanks to her latest album, Cowboy Carter. This year, she leads the Grammy nominations with a total of 11, including nods for best album, best country album, and song of the year for Texas Hold ‘Em.

Other top contenders this year include Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, and Charli XCX, each earning seven nominations. The Beatles also received a record of the year nomination for Now And Then, an unfinished track by John Lennon, completed last year with the help of AI.

Already the Recording Academy’s most-awarded artist, Beyoncé has won 32 Grammy Awards as a solo artist, along with three more as part of Destiny’s Child. Yet, despite four nominations in the category, she has yet to win the prestigious album of the year trophy.

Earlier this year, Jay-Z expressed disappointment with Grammy voters over Beyoncé’s lack of recognition in the album of the year category as he accepted a lifetime achievement award. “I don’t want to embarrass this young lady,” he said, addressing the audience, “But she has more Grammys than everyone and has never won album of the year.”
