EKO HOT BLOG reports that in an official statement, Biden’s team disclosed that the 82-year-old underwent a medical evaluation last week after experiencing worsening urinary symptoms. Following a series of diagnostic tests, a prostate nodule was discovered.
Further analysis revealed a high-grade, fast-growing tumor, with a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5)—one of the most severe classifications of prostate cancer.
“While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management,” the statement noted.
The former president and his family are currently consulting with his medical team to determine the most suitable course of treatment, which could include surgery, radiation, or hormone therapy. No decision has yet been confirmed publicly.
According to Cancer Research UK, a Gleason score of 9 indicates that the cancer cells appear significantly abnormal under microscopic examination and are prone to rapid growth and spread. Hormone-sensitive cancers, however, can often be managed effectively with the right therapeutic approach.
The news comes just months after Biden completed his term in office this January. Since then, he has maintained a relatively low public profile.
