Former President Donald Trump was confirmed safe after shots were fired near Trump National Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday.
Trump was golfing at the club when the incident occurred. His campaign communications director, Steven Cheung, stated, “President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity. No further details at this time.”

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were briefed on the situation. The White House expressed relief that Trump was unharmed, noting, “The President and Vice President have been briefed about the security incident at the Trump International Golf Course. They will be kept regularly updated by their team.”
Vice President Harris condemned the violence, stating, “Violence has no place in America. I am glad former President Trump is safe.”
The U.S. Secret Service is investigating the incident, which occurred shortly before 2 p.m. According to reports, the gunfire involved two individuals exchanging shots outside the golf course, targeting each other rather than Trump. Local authorities confirmed no injuries, and a suspect was later apprehended in a nearby county.
An AK-style firearm was recovered near the scene. This incident follows a similar scare two months prior at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where Trump narrowly escaped an assassination attempt.
The recent events have heightened discussions about the security of presidential candidates and led to increased measures at Trump’s public appearances.
