Biden condemns shooting at Trump rally in Pennsylvania, stresses unity in America.
Eko Hot Blog reports that President Joe Biden has strongly denounced the shooting incident that occurred at a rally held by former President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania last Saturday.
Earlier reports from this online media platform indicated that the individual who fired shots at Trump was subsequently shot and killed, though their identity remains unknown.
Multiple law enforcement sources have confirmed that the shooter involved in the Pennsylvania rally incident has been “neutralized.”
Speaking at an emergency briefing in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, Biden emphasized, “There’s no place in America for this kind of violence. It’s sick. It’s sick. It’s one of the reasons why we have to unite this country… We cannot tolerate this.”
He added, “The notion of political violence or any violence in America like this is simply unacceptable. Everyone, everyone must condemn it.”
Biden also expressed his intention to speak with Trump “shortly.”
Vice President Kamala Harris said on X: “We are praying for him, his family, and all those who have been injured and impacted by this senseless shooting.”
Biden’s former boss, Barack Obama, echoed his words in a statement, saying there was “absolutely no place for political violence in our democracy.”
“Although we don’t yet know exactly what happened, we should all be relieved that former President Trump wasn’t seriously hurt, and use this moment to recommit ourselves to civility and respect in our politics,” the Democrat said.
