EKO HOT BLOG reports that on the heels of Pastor Tunde Bakare’s purchase of the N100million nomination forms of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Founder of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has stated that it is a demotion for him to become the President of Nigeria.

While picking the APC nomination and expression of interest forms on Thursday, Bakare, who is the Serving Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, asserted that he is offering himself to serve and work with Nigerians towards the peace, progress, and prosperity of the country.

This online media platform reports that Bishop Oyedepo, in a veiled reference to the race on who becomes Nigeria’s President in 2023, declared that it is too late for him to be the nation’s president, stressing that his calling is to make a global impact – a destiny he claimed to have discovered at the age of 19.

Disclosing this during a leadership summit transmitted across the world by his ministry, Bishop Oyedepo said “I believe in Nigeria and that is why I am still here, and still praying for Nigeria. But I consider it a demotion if I am invited to become the president of Nigeria. I am called for a global impact. I saw this since 1984.

“Even the devil knows that you can’t be genuinely sold-out to serving God, and not stand out in life.”

The fiery preacher continued, “Since 1976, I have never missed a change of story.

“I was 19 years old when I prayed to God not to let me leave a village the way I met it. So I was 19 when I encountered destiny.”

Bishop Oyedepo had in 2021 described President Muhammadu Buhari as a monumental mistake Nigerians must never repeat, stressing that “the choice of the wicked to sit on the throne of Nigeria will never be repeated.

“The error this nation made in 2015 [presidential election] will never be repeated. The God of vengeance is rising in defence of this nation today,” he asserted.
