Eko Hot Blog reports that the Anglican Bishop of Ikwerre Diocese in Rivers State, Dr. Blessing Enyindah, called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently address the increasing hardship facing Nigerians during his sermon at the funeral of late Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu on Friday.
Speaking at Saint Andrews Cathedral Church in Owo, Bishop Enyindah said “May I on behalf of Nigerians pray and call on the President, Senator Bola Tinubu, to do something to reduce the hardship faced by Nigerians.”
He noted that Tinubu had promised renewed hope during his campaign and now has the opportunity to fulfill that promise. “We plead with him to do it fast because time, that is four or eight years as the case may be, is brief and the time is running,” Enyindah urged.
Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing President Tinubu, was among dignitaries attending the funeral including governors, former governors, senators and party leaders.
Governor Akeredolu died on December 27, 2023 during treatment in Germany after battling illness. He was laid to rest in his hometown Owo on Friday.
Bishop Enyindah seized the opportunity to implore President Tinubu to swiftly address the growing economic challenges and hardship that many Nigerians are facing.
