EKO HOT BLOG reports that Manchester United secured a 2-0 victory over Everton in Saturday’s early kick-off, but the celebrations were marred by an injury to Marcus Rashford.
The English forward had to be substituted after suffering a worrying-looking injury at Old Trafford, where he was seen holding his groin and clutching his right leg after stretching for a high ball.
The 25-year-old appeared to be in considerable pain as he limped off the pitch before full-time, visibly uncomfortable and struggling to walk. Wout Weghorst came on to replace him for the final 10 minutes of the match, but the Red Devils will undoubtedly be concerned about the extent of Rashford’s injury.
Despite the setback, Manchester United put in an excellent overall performance to secure three points, with Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial scoring the goals that secured the victory. However, Rashford’s condition will no doubt be a source of worry for manager Erik ten Hag, who will be hoping that the injury is not too serious.
Rashford has been a key player for Manchester United this season, scoring nine goals and providing five assists in the Premier League.
He has also been a regular for the England national team, and his absence would be a significant blow for both club and country.
The nature and severity of Rashford’s injury are yet to be confirmed, but it is likely that Manchester United will provide an update on his condition in the coming days.
For now, the focus will be on his recovery, and fans will be hoping to see him back on the pitch as soon as possible.
