Eko Hot Blog reports that no fewer than five persons lost their lives while many sustained injuries in a fatal road accident that occurred at Ikaram Akoko of Ondo State on Sunday.
It was gathered that the 18-passenger bus with registration number DKA256XY, was traveling to the northern part of the country when the crash happened.
Confirming the incident, Ondo Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Ezekiel Son’Allah, said overspeeding was responsible for the crash. He said the accident occurred at about 12.30pm and involved 18 passengers.
According to him, while five passengers died, 11 sustained injuries, and two were unhurt.
“The victims were taken to State Specialist Hospital, Ikare Akoko for medical attention and the corpses were taken to same hospital morgue while the crashed vehicle was taken over by men of Nigeria Police Force, Oke- Agbe Division,” the FRSC boss said.
