Blackout in Imo, four other states as distribution company reports second general system collapse in 24 hours

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Enugu Electricity Distribution Plc (EEDC) reported its second system collapse on Tuesday, which occurred at exactly 5.10 pm, resulting in blackout across the entire Southeast.
This was contained in a statement by the the Head, Corporate Communications, EEDC, Emeka Ezeh, who said, “as a result of this unfortunate development, all our outgoing feeders are out and supply to our customers in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States has been affected.”

The statement further read, “We are currently on standby, awaiting further directive from the National Control Centre (NCC) for restoration of supply.”
This online media platform recalls that the first EEDC general system collapse occurred on Monday as contained in a statement made by Eze, which stated, “EEDC wishes to inform her esteemed customers in the South East of a general system collapse which occurred on Monday, 14th March, 2022 at 10:40 am.”
Barely after 24 hours, another grid collapse was announced by the distribution company, which has affected power supply across its network.
