EKO HOT BLOG reports that Bobrisky, the famous cross-dresser, is serving a six-month prison term for abusing naira notes, following a ruling by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos on April 12, 2024.
Contrary to online rumors, the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) denies claims that Bobrisky is housed in a VIP apartment within the Kirikiri correctional facility.
Rotimi Oladokun, spokesperson for the Lagos State Command, stated that Bobrisky shares a cell with other inmates and is not receiving special treatment.
Oladokun clarified that the correctional facility’s infrastructure does not support exclusive amenities for any individual.
In a released statement, Oladokun emphasized Bobrisky’s entitlement to the same reformative and rehabilitative platforms as other inmates.
Bobrisky, whose legal name is Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, wears male-designated correctional clothing and follows all regulations, including the dress code.
Despite allegations of special treatment, the NCoS asserts that Bobrisky is treated like any other inmate, with no privileges or special amenities.
The Controller of Corrections, Lagos Command, urges the public to disregard the misleading claims.
An anonymous source within the correctional facility told Punch that Bobrisky underwent standard procedures upon admission, which confirmed no realignment of gender or genital organs.
