EKO HOT BLOG reports that terrorists from Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) clashed in Borno State’s Sambisa Forest, killing two commanders and 32 fighters.

Separate skirmishes of terror groups happened at Yale in Damboa and Gargash village in Bama Council, according to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert in Maiduguri yesterday.

He went on to say that the 32 people killed were from both sides of the terror groups.

In Yale village, two ISWAP Khaids and four other fighters were murdered in an ambush by the rival Boko Haram division,” he claimed.

On April 19, 2022, the terrorists were slain while travelling at night to a freshly formed ISWAP camp in the forest, according to him.

He also said that the opposing terror group seized four more ISWAP fighters alive, disarmed, and murdered them.

Boko Haram also captured three trucks belonging to ISWAP, according to him.

Makama further revealed that on April 20, 2022, a key Boko Haram leader, Ambu Mairamiri, led a big group of well equipped Boko Haram rebels to attack an ISWAP village near Ngurosoye.

He said the invasion resulted in a long gun duel that lasted over two hours and lost numerous lives.

A military source in Maiduguri, the mutually destructive struggle resulted in the deaths of roughly 18 ISWAP terrorists and six Boko Haram members.

According to reports, Mairamiri, who has promised to destroy all ISWAP terrorists, ordered his forces to set fire to four ISWAP gun vehicles and their newly erected improvised tents in the forest.

The source stated that the rivalry between the two terror groups has escalated, with Boko Haram continuing to hunt for ISWAP militants at night.

Boko Haram militants are familiar with woodland terrains, he said, whereas ISWAP coordinates retaliatory assaults during the day.

The enhanced Operation Desert and Lake Sanity, according to the source, had driven numerous ISWAP terrorists and their families to migrate to safer areas in Mandara Mountain.

Gargash, Izza, Bula Bakakai, and Gobara, as well as the rock of Ngulde in Chibok council, are among the other hideouts, according to him.
