At least two persons were killed when suspected Boko Haram insurgents unleashed terror on Garkida town in Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa state.

Ekohotblog reports that the state governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, who confirmed the attack described it as cowardly.
In a statement signed and released on Friday evening by the his Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, Fintiri condemned the attack saying those who perpetrated it would not go scotfree.
The insurgents had invaded Garkida Thursday evening, looting valuables and destroying some other items that they could not cart away.
In condemning the attack, the governor said “This latest cowardly attack is yet another desperate rear guard action by the Boko Haram terrorists who have been under intense pressure from the Nigerian military.”
He allayed the fears of the state residents, assuring them that the “cowardly attack on Garkida would not go without severe consequences.”
Fintiri condoled and sympathised with residents of Garkida over the attack, noting that the incident was a painful reminder of the sinister aims of the terrorists and why all hands must be on deck in order to tackle “a menace without boundaries”
