At least Twenty Boko Haram insurgents were killed when troops of 130 Battalion waylaid their convoy on their way to carrying out attacks on some villages in Baga in Borno State.
The Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, Major General John Enenche, announced the military exploits in a statement on Monday.
He disclosed that nine soldiers suffered varying degrees of injuries during the operation.

He added despite the sophistication of ammunitions in possession of the insurgents, they were routed by the troops’ superior firepower.
Enenche said “the criminals armed with mortars, rocket-propelled grenades and small arms were heading to attack villages surrounding Baga, when the troops attacked their convoy with overwhelming firepower killing 20 BHT/ISWAP criminals, captured six AK 47 rifles, 520 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and five 36 hand grenades.
