Borno Acting Gov Distibutes Ramadan Palliatives to 34, 000 House Hold

  • Borno Acting Gov, Kaddafur has Distributed Ramadan Palliatives to 34, 000 House Hold in Maiduguri, Jere Councils areas of the state.

 

The Acting Governor of Borno State, Hon Umar Usman Kadafur has on Friday distributed Ramadan Palliatives to residents of the  most populous Council Areas of Maiduguri and Jere .

Kadafur stated that the gesture is part of government commitment towards meeting the needs of the citizens especially during  the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Each household according to the Acting Governor is expected to go home with a  25kg bag of rice and a carton of spaghetti.

The Acting Governor made this known at the State Mechanical Workshop venue of the palliative distributed in Maiduguri, the state capital.

Hon Kadafur called on the beneficiaries to make personal use of the food stuff given to them and warned against selling of the palliatives in the open market .

“To the beneficiaries, I implore you not sell any of these items but to domestically use with your dear family” the Acting Governor said.

Kadafur expressed gratitude to the donors of the food items and call on other well  meaning individuals and organisations to emulate to good gesture.

He particularly commended the “Dangote Foundation, A. A Rano Baba For All Initiative led by Hon. Aminu Sani, the Nigerian Customs Service and the NNPC” for their donations.

A Member of Borno State House of Assembly,  representing Maiduguri Metrropolitan Council (MMC) Hon. Ali Kotoko who was present at the occasion commended the state government for coming to aid of his constituents during Ramadan.

“As respective of my people, these Ramadan Kareem palliatives given to us by the state government will go a long way at reducing the hardship being faced by my constituents ” adding that “that state government has done well to alleviate the plight of my people “.

One of the beneficiaries,  35-year-old Habiba Alhaji Ahmad and mother of seven children says ” the palliative came at the right time and it will assist my family in no small measure “.
