Boss Mustapha Celebrates Nigerian Media On World’s Press Freedom Day

  • He appreciated the extant role of the media in the fight against the Covid-19 Pandemic.

 

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, has joined others to celebrate the Nigerian media on the occasion of the World’s Press Freedom Day. 

The Chairman, Presidential Steering Committee (PSC) on COVID-19, noted the contributions of the Nation’s media in the containment of the fight against the pandemic.

Mustapha stated that journalists made sacrifices in filing reports day and night.

He also appreciated the initial coverage given to the daily press briefings held by the then Presidential Task Force.

The SGF stressed that their contributions led to the dissemination of accurate information to the citizenry through jingles, advertorials, and various educational programmes on their platforms.

Mustapha, therefore, assured media practitioners of the continued support of the PSC on COVID-19.

He, however, urged them to “use their role as purveyors of news to build a strong and united country by adhering to the ethics of the profession through truthful and accurate reports.”
