An invitation sent to Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, may be withdrawn as many persons, presumably Christians, have taken to social media to protest against his inclusion as a speaker at the event.
Social media users on Twitter, using the hashtag #BoycottThePlatform, which has since garnered over 7,500 tweets on the microblogging site, have insisted that the governor cannot speak at the event because of what they described as his hatred for Christians.

They also cited the removal of a former deputy governor of Kaduna State, Barnabas Bantex, accusing El-Rufai of plotting his removal because he is a Christian.
Recall that El-Rufai was kicked off a Nigerian Bar Association’s (NBA) conference last year due to his contentious religious sentiments and perceived disregard for human rights.

Thousands of lawyers signed a petition on change.org that the Kaduna governor be removed from the conference due to his poor human rights track record and how he threatened that any foreign observer who intruded in the state’s elections would leave the state in ‘body bags’.
