17 students of the Bethel Baptist High School, Kaduna, who were abducted earlier on Monday, have regained freedom, EKO HOT BLOG has gathered.
This was disclosed by the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalije, on Monday.
EKO HOT BLOG had earlier reported that unknown gunmen suspected to be bandits, in the early hours of Monday, attacked the Baptist school, located at Damishi town of Chikun Local Government Area in Kaduna State, and whisked scores of students away.
A teacher at the school, Emmanuel Paul, disclosed that no fewer than 165 students were abducted by the bandits.

However, the Kaduna police spokesperson said the exact number of students abducted by the bandits had yet to be ascertained, adding that details would be made public in due course.
“Tactical police teams went after the kidnappers. We are still on the rescue mission,” Jalije said.
The assailants were said to have scaled a fence to break into the school in Kaduna State in the early hours of Monday.
