Breaking: 27 Dead, Thousands Injured In Beirut Blasts
The two explosions that took place in Lebanese Capital, Beirut, on Tuesday 4th of August has killed 27 people and left 2,700 injured.
This was announced by “preliminary estimates” Mr Hamad Hassan, the Health Minister.
The Health Minister, Hamad Hassan, said “it was a disaster in every sense of the word,” he said in an interview with several television channels while visiting a hospital in the Lebanese capital.
As at the time compiling this report the cause of the explosion was yet to be disclosed. According to the footage there was smoke billowing from a fire before the blast, which is followed by a mushroom cloud.
Lebanon’s internal security chief said the blast happened in an area housing highly explosive materials, thousands of houses were destroyed.

The report revealed that there were a lot of dead bodies and severe damage, enough to put the port of Beirut out of action.
The explosion comes at a sensitive time for Lebanon, with an economic crisis reigniting old divisions.
He spoke of a “dangerous warehouse” which had been there since 2014, but said he would not pre-empt the investigation.
A witness described the first explosion as deafening, and video footage showed wrecked cars and blast-damaged buildings.
“All the buildings around here have collapsed. I’m walking through glass and debris everywhere, in the dark,” one witness near the port told AFP news agency, he said.
