“The Airport Emergency Response Team, along with accident investigators, is on-site. Efforts are underway to clear the runway, which is expected to reopen for operations as soon as possible. We appreciate the aviation community and the public for their patience and understanding.
We urge everyone to refrain from speculation until the Nigeria Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) releases its preliminary report.”
The evacuees were taken to the FAAN clinic for precautionary medical checks. The incident has attracted the attention of aviation stakeholders, with restoration efforts currently ongoing to resume normal airport operations.
