EKO HOT BLOG reports that Egypt Assistant Coach Dhia El Sayed has called on the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to postpone the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2021 final until Monday.
El Sayed said his team are making the demand because Senegal, their opponents in the final, have had extra rest.

Senegal struck three times in the last 20 minutes to book their place in Sunday’s AFCON final as they overcame Burkina Faso 3-1 on Wednesday.
On Thursday night, a heroic performance from injured Mohamed Abou Gabal in the Egyptian goal sent his country through to the final of the AFCON as he saved two penalties in a dramatic shoot-out.
The seven-time champions will meet Senegal in the final in Yaounde on Sunday.
Now, because of the day extra Senegal had, El Sayed, who stood in for red-carded Carlos Queiroz on Thursday, is requesting for the final to be moved by one day.
The AFCON tournament was originally scheduled to be played in June and July 2021. However, on 15 January 2020, the CAF announced that due to unfavourable climatic conditions during that period, the tournament had been rescheduled to be played between 9 January and 6 February 2021. On 30 June 2020, the CAF moved the tournament’s dates for the second time to January 2022 following the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic across the continent, whilst retaining the name 2021 Africa Cup of Nations for sponsorship purposes.
