BREAKING: Again, Four Reps Members Dump PDP For APC

  • No fewer than four members of the House of Representatives from Zamfara State have announced their defection from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Four members of the House of Representatives from Zamfara State have announced their defection from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), EKO HOT BLOG has gathered.

The lawmakers announced their defection to the APC at the plenary on Tuesday.

The Reps members include Bello Shinkafi of the Shinkafi/Zurmi Federal Constituency; Ahmed Bakura, Bakura/Maradun; Ahmed Shehu, Bungudu/Maru; and Suleiman Gummi, Gummi/Bukkuyum.

The Speaker of the House of Reps, Femi Gbajabiamila, read their letters of defection at the opening of the plenary at the lower chamber on Tuesday.

EKO HOT BLOG recalls that the Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, had formally announced his defection from the PDP to the APC in Gusau, the state capital, last Tuesday.

The governor had defected to the ruling party with members of the federal and state legislatures.

All the 24 members of the state House of Assembly, all the three senators, and six out of the seven members of the House had also announced their defection to the APC.

However, the Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Aliyu Gusau, and a member of the House of Reps representing Anka/Talata-Mafara Federal Constituency, Kabiru Mafara, have remained in the opposition PDP.
