BREAKING: Again, Gunmen Attack Police Station, Kill Policeman

  • Unknown gunmen have reportedly killed a policeman during an attack on Abaomege Police Station in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
  • A source revealed that one police officer was shot dead while another policeman sustained gunshot injuries, adding that the gunmen attacked the station with dangerous arms.

Unknown gunmen have reportedly killed a policeman during an attack on Abaomege Police Station in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

A police source disclosed that assailants attacked the police station on Saturday night.

The source revealed that one police officer was shot dead while another policeman sustained gunshot injuries, adding that the gunmen attacked the station with dangerous arms.

“Yes some unknown gunmen attacked Abomege police station and a policeman was killed while another was hospitalized following injuries sustained in the attack,” the source disclosed.

EKO HOT BLOG gathered that the injured policeman is receiving treatment at the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki.

It was learnt the policemen on duty repelled the gunmen who retreated after a gun battle, noting that some of the assailants also sustained gunshot injuries during the attack.

It was further gathered no further damage was done to the station.

However, the spokesperson for Ebonyi State police command, Loveth Odah, could not be reached for comments as of the time of writing this report.

But a top police source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed the attack, saying more police officers had been deployed to the station.
