BREAKING: AGF Speaks On Jonathan/Malami Presidential Ticket
- The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, has spoken about the Jonathan/Malami presidential ticket ahead of the 2023 general elections.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN, Monday debunked reports making the rounds that former President Goodluck Jonathan and himself will contest the forthcoming 2023 presidential election.
The AGF media aide, Dr. Bashir Gwandu, while reacting on behalf of his principal, described the rumour as a figment of some persons’ imagination who are bent on distracting the minister from his official duties.
Gwandu noted that the AGF never discussed such with anybody and has not shown interest in any political post.
He added that his principal is so occupied with his ministerial duties of serving his country the best way he could.
The AGF media aide said, “2023 is still very far to even talk about it, the attorney has never indicated interest to stand for election with anybody.”

Gwandu enjoined Nigerians to be wary of what they say or post on social media, saying, “What the minister needs now is to focus more on how to deliver much-needed services to the country and that he has been doing and will continue.”
EKO HOT BLOG reports that a group under auspices of Arewa 2023 Agenda for Peaceful Transition, had claimed that forces within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) were plotting to bring former President Goodluck Jonathan as the party’s presidential candidate in 2023 and the current Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, as the running mate.
