BREAKING: Akeredolu Sacks Aide, Appoints Another

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state has relieved Banji Adewumi, his special assistant on students affairs of his appointment.

The Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Segun Ajiboye in a statement released on Friday said Adewumi had forsaken his office and responsibilities for some months, hence his sack.

The statement reads in part:

“The Special Assistant to the Governor on Youths and Students’ Affairs, Mr Banji Adewumi, has been relieved of his appointment.”

“It was recently discovered that Adewumi has abandoned the office and his responsibilities for some months now, and that he is no longer resident in the country.”

“Expectedly, his absence has made the office to suffer serious neglect, which if left unattended to, may lead to incalculable damage in the relationship between the government and the student’s population.”

“Therefore, in his place, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has authorized the appointment of Ogunyemi Olumuyiwa Ojo as his new Special Assistant on Youths and Students’ Affairs.”

“The Governor wishes the new appointee success in his job and to see his assignment as a challenge to create a platform for a robust relationship between the government and youths of the state.” He added.

Ogunyemi Olumuyiwa Ojo is a former candidate for the House of Assembly under the auspices of the APC from Ikare Akoko.
