EKOHOTBLOG reports that unknown assailants have reportedly killed no fewer than five farmers in Osun State.
It was gathered that the farmers were killed by the assailants in Modekeke town while they were going to their farm in Toro Village on Friday.
A community leader in Modakeke, Mr. Femi Eluyinka, confirmed the tragic incident, noting that some people from the community and police operatives have evacuated the corpses.
He added that the incident has intensified tension in the Osun community.
“Police operatives have arrived. Tension is on the rise. Five of them were indigenes of Modakeke and they were killed this morning along Toro road. They were heading to their farm,” Eluyinka disclosed.

As gathered by EKOHOTBLOG, the latest attack was confirmed by the Osun State Police Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola.
“We heard some people were killed and the Commissioner of Police has deployed more policemen to the area,” the police spokesperson said.
