BREAKING: Anxiety As Gunmen Attack School In Imo, Raze Motorcycles
- Students and staff were on Monday thrown into panic as gunmen attacked a school in Imo.
EKOHOTBLOG reports that unknown gunmen suspected to be members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Monday attacked the Comprehensive Secondary School, Nkume in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State.
It was gathered that assailants stormed the school on Monday and stopped the students from taking their examination.
EKOHOTBLOG learnt that the students were preparing to take the English papers in the ongoing Junior Secondary School Examination when the gunmen stormed their school and dispersed them.
It was further gathered that both teachers and students scampered for safety as the armed gunmen shot sporadically into the air to disperse them.
The suspected IPOB members, it was learnt, razed some motorcycles belonging to some of the staff and students of the school.
EKOHOTBLOG reports that although there was no report of casualties, a viral video of the attack showed the students and staff shouting and running for their lives.

Meanwhile, the Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Mike Abattam, could be reached for comment on the incident as of press time.
EKOHOTBLOG recalls that IPOB had declared every Monday as sit-at-home in the South-East region of the country to drum support for the release of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu, who is currently in DSS custody.
Kanu has been in the DSS custody over charges bothering on treasonable felony since July 2021.
Apart from Mondays, IPOB also declared sit-at-home any day Nnamdi Kanu is to appear before the Federal High Court in Abuja.
