EKOHOTBLOG reports that residents were thrown into a panic in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory on Tuesday as the police operatives and members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) popularly known as Shi’ites, clashed in the nation’s capital.
It was gathered that the clash occurred when police operatives, who were trying to dispatch the protesters, shot into the air along Gwarinpa-Kubuwa Expressway.
Meanwhile, a large number of security operatives have been deployed to the area.
Also, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Josephine Adeh, could not be reached for comment as of the time of filing this report.
