The Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello’s election in November 2019 governorship poll has been affirmed by the court in Abuja on Saturday, after dismissing four appeals challenging his victory.
A five-man panel of justices of the court upheld Governor Bello’s election in a judgment.
The court had dismissed the appeals filed by four political parties challenging the governor’s re-election.

Parties who filed the appeals included; the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Social Democratic Party (SDP), the Action Peoples Party (APP), and the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP).
According to the three-man panel of the Kogi State Governorship Election Tribunal, the court was unable to reach a unanimous decision in the case, as a result of which it delivered a split judgment of two-to-one to affirm Bello’s election.
