BREAKING: ASUU Calls-Off Nine-Month-Old Strike
The Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) on Wednesday called off its strike, exactly nine months after the prolonged industrial started.
ASUU National President, Biodun Ogunyemi made the announcement during a briefing of the union in Abuja.
Eko Hot Blog reliably gathers that ASUU and the Federal Government finally agreed on major issues that led to termination of the strike.
The agreement was reportedly reached in the early hours of Wednesday after an eight-hour closed-door meeting between the union and government delegates.

He, however, warned that the union will return to strike without notice should the federal government refuse to honour the agreement reached with the lecturers.
In light of the recent spike of new COVID-19 infections, Ogunyemi said the decision to reopen schools lies with the Federal Government and Senate of public tertiary institutions of learning.
The ASUU President thanked students and their parents for their patience, saying “no amount of sacrifice would be too much to get the matter resolved as long as the government is consistent with its commitments.”
