Eko Hot Blog reports that Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers, claims that Senator Iyorchia Ayu, the PDP’s national chairman, conspired to prevent him from becoming the party’s nominee for president.

He claimed that Ayu called a number of other candidates to withdraw in favor of Atiku Abubakar, who ultimately chose the ticket.

He mentioned some of those contacted to withdraw for Atiku as Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed: his Sokoto counterpart Aminu Tambuwal and former Senate President Bukola Saraki.
