EKO HOT BLOG reports that the National Union of Electricity Employees of Nigeria (NUEE) with the backing of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has shut down major TCN stations across Lagos State.
The development is coming on the heel of threats from the Labour unions to shut down power supply over Labour-related issues with the Ministry of Power.
According to Nairametrics, most areas around Ikeja, Lekki, Lagos Island and Mainland are currently out of power.
This online news platform had earlier reported that the organised labour on Tuesday directed workers in the power sector to down tools and commence an indefinite strike over pending labour issues with the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).
The Union complained about the alleged failure of the Federal Government to pay the entitlement of former staff of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) in December 2019.
This is a developing story.
