BREAKING: Bandits Strike Again, Kill Scores, Injure Others In Kaduna

  • “The arrival of the military personnel saved the situation but before their (military) arrival, many people were killed.”

An unspecified number of people have been feared killed while several others were injured following an attack by unknown gunmen suspected to be bandits on Kachia town in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, EKO HOT BLOG has gathered.

It was gathered that the bandits attacked the community around 10pm on Wednesday.

EKO HOT BLOG understands that Kachia is housing a formidable military formation comprising the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Navy where they are receiving various training.

A source disclosed that the bandits invaded Kachia town for almost two hours before the security agencies intervened to bring the situation under control.

It was further gathered that the bandits operated around Kachia market and targeted grains and other food items being uploaded at the market in preparation for the Friday market.

“The arrival of the military personnel saved the situation but before their (military) arrival, many people were killed. The main target of the bandits was to steal food items and kidnap people for ransom,” the source disclosed.

The source noted that the Kachia market is held on Friday and traders from other communities always bring their grains and other food items from Wednesday to late Thursday and offload them in the market.

EKO HOT BLOG, however, learnt that the injured persons are presently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in Kachia.
