Eko Hot Blog reports that Adebola Akin-Bright, the 12-year-old boy whose small intestine went missing while receiving treatment at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), has died.
His mother, Abiodun Deborah, disclosed this in a phone conversation with Vanguard on Tuesday.
Adebola died at LASUTH, where he had been receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness.
The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, had visited Adebola in August and pledged to cover his medical care and expenses. He had also ordered an investigation into the disappearance of Adebola’s small intestine.
The hospital management denied the allegation, saying that Adebola’s small intestine was not missing.
The Lagos State House of Assembly had also said that anyone found culpable in the case would be prosecuted.
