The alleged offenses are said to have occurred between July 1 and August 4, 2024.
The defendants are accused of engaging in treasonous activities during a week-long nationwide protest, allegedly waging war against the Nigerian state.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) brought the charges, which include claims that the group broke into the Abacha Army Barracks and openly called for a military takeover of President Tinubu’s government.

The prosecution further alleges that the accused attempted to forcibly enter the seat of power, during which they allegedly set a police station on fire and injured officers.
They are accused of inciting the public against the government and causing widespread destruction of public property, including police stations, a High Court complex, and facilities belonging to the National Communication Commission (NCC).
The alleged offenses reportedly took place in various locations, including Abuja, Kano, Kaduna, and Gombe.
The accused, including Michael Tobiloba Adaramoye, Adeyemi Abiodun Abayomi, Suleiman Yakubu, Comrade Opaluwa Eleojo Simon, Angel Love Innocent, Buhari Lawal, Mosiu Sadiq, Bashir Bello Nurudeen Khamis, and Abduldalam Zubair, all pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Counsel for the IGP, Simon Lough, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), requested that Justice Emeka Nwite remand the accused in prison pending trial. However, defense counsel are actively contesting the bail applications for the accused.
