EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Former Central Bank of Nigeria governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo Thursday, has been sworn in as the fifth democratically elected governor of Anambra State.
Soludo, who won the November 9 governorship election on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), was sworn-in during a low-key ceremony ongoing at the Government House in Awka, the state capital.

He was sworn in by the State Chief judge, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu at exactly 9:45am, at the Anambra State Government House.
The event was witnessed by several dignitaries, including the out-gone governor, Chief Willie Obiano and his wife, Mrs Ebelechukwu, and all the 30 members of the Anambra State House of Assembly.
As of the time of filing this report, the new Governor is already inspecting the guard of honour, his first task as Governor of the State.
The Governor had earlier stated that immediately after the swearing-in, he would proceed to Okpoko, a sprawling slum, near Onitsha, where he would spend eight hours working to provide a better living for the people.
Recall that the outgoing governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano Wednesday formally handed over official government documents to the incoming governor, Professor Charles Soludo at the Government House, Awka.
Obiano also conducted Soludo round offices in Government House. The ceremony was witnessed by the outgoing secretary to the state government, SSG, Professor Solo Chukwudebelu and some aides of Soludo.
At the handover Wednesday, Obiano handed to Soludo documents containing assets and liabilities of the state, as well as ongoing projects across the state.
The professor of economics takes over from Willie Obiano whose eight-year tenure expired on Thursday, March 17, 2022.
