Nigerian Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru, is dead.
EKO HOT BLOG gathered that the Chief of Army Staff died in a plane crash involving a Nigerian Air Force aircraft at the Kaduna International Airport.
It was gathered that the ill-fated aircraft crashed at the airport’s runway around 6 pm on Friday.
The Chief of Army Staff was billed to commission a project in one of the military formations in Kaduna State when the incident occurred.
The Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB), Nigeria, Akin Olateru, who confirmed the crash disclosed that eight persons on board the aircraft were pronounced dead.
“Beachcraft 350. 8 souls on board. Unfortunately all dead,” Olateru disclosed.

Also, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), via its official Twitter handle, further confirmed that there was an accident involving one of its aircraft in Kaduna State.
The NAF, however, did not provide details.
“An air crash involving a @NigAirForce aircraft occurred this evening near the Kaduna International Airport. The immediate cause of the crash is still being ascertained. More details to follow soon,” the NAF tweeted.
Born on August 10, 1966, Major General Ibrahim Attahiru hails from Kaduna North Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
He was a member of the Regular Course 35 of the Nigerian Defence Academy.
Before his appointment as the Chief of Army Staff, he was the General Officer Commanding 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, Enugu.
Ibrahim Attahiru was among the Service Chiefs appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, following the sack of the Chief of Defence, General Abayomi Olonisakin; Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Tukur Buratai; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas; and Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, after the four had spent five years and five months in office.
