[BREAKING] Copa America: Messi Wins First Major Title For Argentina

  • The game was watched by a small crowd of 7,000 football lovers at Rio de Janeiro in Brazil due to COVID-19 restrictions.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Barcelona star, Lionel Messi, on Sunday ended a 28 years wait for a major title as Argentina defeat host Brazil 1-0 in the final of the Copa America.

Angel di Maria proved the matchwinner with his superb lob, after taking down Rodrigo de Paul’s lofted pass.

Messi had a chance to sign off the win but slipped with the goal in what would have been the perfect final for the Argentine captain.

Defending champions Brazil were disappointed after their only chances by Richarlison and Gabriel Barbosa were saved by Emi Martinez.

The game was watched by a small crowd of 7,000 invited guests at Rio de Janeiro in Brazil due to COVID-19 restrictions.

However, the final match was the first of the tournament to have spectators in attendance.
