EKOHOTBLOG reports that Oyo State High Court has ordered the Department of State Security (DSS) to pay N20 billion to Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, fondly known as Sunday Igboho, for unlawfully invading his residence in the Soka area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on July 1, 2021.
Justice Ladiran Akintola of Oyo High Court, who gave the order on Friday, awarded the sum as exemplary and aggravated damages against the DSS in the suit filed by Sunday Igboho in which he is seeking N500 billion damages for the invasion of his house.
Justice Akintola also declared the invasion by the DSS as illegal, and tongue-lashed the secret police for acting based on what he described as “arbitrary aggression and prejudices” from his agitation for Yoruba Nation.
