A heated exchange erupted in the Senate on Wednesday after a dispute over seating arrangements led to Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (PDP, Kogi Central) being asked to leave the chamber.
The tension arose when Senator Natasha’s seat was relocated at the resumption of the session presided over by Senate President Godswill Akpabio. However, she refused to comply with the adjustment.
Chief Whip Senator Mohammed Ali Monguno drew the Senate President’s attention to what he described as “Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s improper seating position.” Before he could finish his point of order, Natasha engaged in a shouting match, prompting the Sergeant-at-Arms to intervene and attempt to escort her out of the plenary.
