BREAKING: EFCC Seals Off Former Nigerian Governor’s Property

  • The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has sealed off a property of a former Nigerian governor.

EKOHOTBLOG reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has sealed off the property of the former governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.

It was gathered that the property sealed off by the EFCC is situated on Miller Road in the Kano metropolis.

EKOHOTBLOG further learnt that the property of the former governor was sealed by the EFCC over an allegation of diversion of local government funds amounting to N3.08billion.

It was gathered that one Barrister Mustapha Danjuma had in a petition alleged that Kwankwaso received contributions of N70 million from each of the 44 local government councils (totaling N3.08billion) towards his presidential primary in 2015.

As gathered by EKOHOTBLOG, the latest development was confirmed by the spokesman of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, noting that the anti-graft agency was investigating allegations contained in the petition.

Kwankwaso, a two-term governor of Kano State, represented Kano Central Senatorial District at the Senate between 2011 and 2015.

The former governor had contested the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary in 2015 but lost to President Muhammadu Buhari before he later defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
