The mother of the Emir of Kano, Hajiya Maryam Ado Bayero,is dead.
The mother of Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, was said to have died at a hospital in Cairo, Egypt, in the early hours of Saturday.
A source, who works under the Kano Emirate Council Secretary, said she had been sick for a while.

The source added that the date and time of her burial arrangements will be communicated later.
Late Hajiya Maryam, aged 86, is also the mother of the present emir of Bichi, Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero.
The deceased was the wife of late emir Ado Bayero and a princess of Ilorin Emirate in Kwara State.
