EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Ekiti State Police has arrested a prominent politician alongside ‘Sarkin Fulani’ who doubles as a chieftain of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in the state, in connection with a series of high-profile kidnappings and murder.
Ibrahim Mumini Toyin, once elected Councillor during the administration of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ido Osi Local Government Area (LGA), was arrested alongside Alhaji Abashe Adamu Idris in Ido-Ekiti on June 29, 2022.
Toyin is presently a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The police described Messrs Adamu and Mumuni as kidnap kingpins.
During interrogation, Toyin confessed to the alleged crime and claimed that the dastardly act of kidnapping and murder of one of the two victims was carried out by himself and four others who are children of Alhaji Abashe Adamu Idris and are currently at large.

Ekiti State had become the hotbed of kidnappings in the south-west region of the country.
Four major kidnappings had occurred since April 2022.
