EKO HOT BLOG reports that a former Chairman of Ilejemeje Local Government (LG), Prince Bamidele Adegoroye has been kidnapped along Iludun – Isan Ekiti road.
Isan Ekiti is the hometown of Governor Kayode Fayemi.
Adegoroye, who was said to be coming from Ado Ekiti, was kidnapped at about 8pm on Sunday alongside one of his associates, simply identified as Alfa.

It is not clear if this latest attack is politically-motivated, as a Governorship election is holding in Ekiti this year.
Kidnapping for ransom in Nigeria can be traced to the country’s oil-rich Niger Delta region in the early 2000s, mainly targeting expatriates. It then spread across Nigeria, where 40 percent of people in Africa’s most populous country live below the poverty line.
Abductors have historically targeted the country’s middle- and upper-class, demanding ransoms between $1,000 and $150,000, depending on their victims’ net worth and capacity to pay, according to police.
In other cases, however, the sums are much larger.
Main roads have long been a hunting ground for kidnappers.
