BREAKING: FG Announces Indefinite Postponement Of Schools Resumption

The Federal Government has announced an indefinite postponement of resumption of academic activities across the various tiers of educational institutions in the country.

As gathered by EkoHotBlog, the Minister of Education, Hon Adamu Adamu disclosed this in a press briefing on Monday, January 11th, 2021.

The minister also stated that the government is currently in consultation with the relevant stakeholders to determine a new resumption date.

EkoHotBlog had earlier reported that the Federal Government had given the go ahead for educational institutions to resume academic activities on Monday, January 18th, 2021, but in the light of the recent surge in COVID-19 cases and fatalities, the government has deemed it necessary to delay resumption to avoid a further spike in COVID-19 infections.

The postponement is expected to apply across board to all levels of education in the country.
