BREAKING: FG Extends Deadline For NIN-SIM Linkage

  • The Federal Government (FG) has extended the deadline for the ongoing National Identification Number (NIN) and subscriber identity module (SIM) linkage registration by one month.
  • The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, made this known in a statement on Friday.

The Federal Government (FG) has extended the deadline for the ongoing National Identification Number (NIN) and subscriber identity module (SIM) linkage registration by four weeks.

According to the FG, the new deadline for the registration is May 6, 2021.

The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, made this known in a statement on Friday.

The minister said the extension was endorsed by President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday.

The statement read in part, “The meeting took place on Thursday, April 1, 2021, and approval was given to extend the period of the NIN-SIM linkage to the 6th of May, 2021.

“The request for the extension was presented to President Muhammadu Buhari and he endorsed it.”
